Support from our families and community keep our program moving in the right direction
The Granada Middle School Instrumental Music Program is currently in its early building phase. Our music program relies on the donations of our families and community. This year, our mission is to receive support toward our program in two ways: 1. Through donations and 2. Volunteering at events
Our program this year has about 150 students. Our program consists of two bands, two string orchestras, a combo strings/band class, and a jazz band.
Your donation will go towards maintaining our instruments and equipment, purchasing new instruments and accessories, making field trips possible, and a multitude of various smaller expenses. We are able to provide a rich music education for our children by receiving the support to include fun, educational opportunities throughout the school year. Keep in mind that if you were to place your child in music lessons, you would be paying far more to provide lessons. We need your help. Enrolling a child in private lessons could cost you at least $40 an hour for a lesson!
This is how you can help the program:
We ask for donations from our families. All of these donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a tax donation letter that can be included in your taxes as a deduction to a non-profit organization.
Instrument Donation - We only have a very limited inventory of school-owned instruments, but if you are using a school instrument, we suggest a donation of $50 to maintain the instrument in good-working order and ensure we can provide repairs if needed.
Transportation Donation - Made to the school to help with field trip costs. Suggested donation of $50.
Program Donation - By making a contribution, your name will be included in all of our concert programs.
Bronze Level - $0-99
Silver Level - $100-500
Gold Level - $500 +
Chair and/or Music Stand Sponsorship - Please see the attached chair/stand donation program letter.
It is very important to understand that none of these donation requests are mandatory to remain in this program. We also ask that every family do what they can. If that means donating less, we are thankful for whatever you can give. If that means donating more than the suggested amount, we are thankful for whatever you can give.
If you are able to donate, please make a check payable to: Granada Middle School, and send with your child in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, your name, and the amount enclosed. Please label the envelope "Band and Orchestra Donation."
